Locus Coffee Shop: Crafted Drinks You’ll Crave
Locus is a coffee shop that sparkles all year round with it’s cleverly crafted drinks, desserts, and homemade food in Downtown Bellingham.
Located on 120 W Holly St, Bellingham, WA 98225, it’s one of those spots I feel like I walked by a lot as a college kid and one summer, my friend told me they served Bacon Popcorn and I had to try it. Yes, these are the same friends who we adventured to Little Dreamer’s and Love From London. Ever since that summer day years ago, I had always kept an eye on the location.
I think for the longest time I thought it was just a wine bar, but allow me to shatter that idea, Locus is so much more. They serve coffee, boozy brunches, and comfort food that once you try you’ll just crave and find yourself there happy as can be.
They have seasonal snacks and sips that always shine on their Instagram and usually result in Chef showing me their post and saying, “I have to try this.”
My absolute favorite drinks to order at Locus are the Deluxe Cocoa and Toasty Marshmallow Latte — I know, it’s not a white chocolate mocha, but you must understand I am EASILY swayed by a torched marshmallow. Both of those drinks come with, “torched marshmallows and chocolate drizzle,” How am I supposed to refuse that? The whole cafe just smells like a marshmallow when you order it and I just CANNOT — I mean, have you head me gush about Sweethaven’s marshmallows? Chef tries something different every time, but I can confidently share that he has always been impressed by the powerful flavors of each drink he’s tried. None of them shy away from the flavor they showcase. The drinks are bold!

Eating at Locus in Bellingham
One thing I love about this coffee spot is that it is very colorful with graffiti-styled painted walls. There is usually a spot for two people available and I’ve brought several people here for meetings to discuss work. It just has an atmosphere that is casual but allows you to get things done and enjoy all your snacks and wraps any time of day. I just like how there is a bit of everything for anyone, if it’s 1 PM, you can get a snack, if you have kids they have a Kids Corner on their menu which includes kiddo favorites like grilled cheese, a “Little Human Charcuterie” of crackers, fruit, veggies, and cheese.
Parking is easy as it is tucked just under the Parking Garage, so it’s never difficult to find a spot and the parking garage offers free hours at certain times of the day.
The Innovative Coffeehouse that will keep us coming back. This woman-owned coffee shop is just so perfectly multi-faceted and is constantly capturing our attention with it’s creative flair to new drinks, menu options, and it’s hybrid cafe-meets-hangout style space.
Seriously, if you love coffee, wine, beer and want to try it all with a Pacific Northwest flair and local focus, you simply must go to Locus of Bellingham.
