You have great trail access that is tree-covered, Lake Whatcom is a skip away, it has grown into an area that has plenty of healthcare options, grocery stores, and getting into the events of Downtown is a quick drive too. What I love about this neighborhood is there is still enough wiggle room to have extra space for when your kids visit.
Fairhaven
If you were to day dream of a European get-away without having to get on a plane, I feel like Fairhaven might be the neighborhood most people picture when they imagine their ideal empty nester lifestyle.
Fairhaven is exceptionally quiet as the sun gets lower in the sky. Yet, there are still happenings and events to keep you busy. Waterfront walks paired with local eats. Markets that close a few blocks and host local makers. The annual Ski to Sea finish line. The Firehouse Arts and Events Center for coffee and a show. Fairhaven is this delightful calm that can swirl into this stunning event.

Silver Beach + Geneva
Silver Beach appeals to empty nesters who want nature to stay central in their lives. This neighborhood wraps around the north side of Lake Whatcom and offers a quieter, more residential atmosphere than areas closer to downtown.
