Fruit Stands in Town

I love exploring the isles of the Community Food Co-op and admiring the different shaped, sized, and colors of the local grown farmer’s fruits and veggies. Sometimes you want to dive even deeper, I have drive by so many lovely fruit and vegetable stands over the years and decided to make this quick list of local stands around Bellingham.

Youngerstock Nursery and Produce

Located at 2237 James St , Bellingham, WA, is one that is so easy to drive by when you’re cruising around Bellingham. Colorful hanging flower baskets, fruits, vegatables and so much more. According to their Facebook page they are, “Family owned and run since 1972. We specialize in as Produce and Nursery.”

Goods Nursery and Produce

Located at 2620 Northwest Ave, Bellingham, WA, Goods offers tons of Washington local options to enjoy. Also home to Goods Local Brews and food trucks like Dumpling Girls, it’s an absolute joy to turn on Northwest and see it’s bright and lively building amongst homes in the perfect little slice of town. Check out Goods Nursey and Produce.

The Bellingham Farmers Market

Obviously, I wasn’t going to leave out the fairy-Godmother-Gathering of all “Fruit” Stands — The Bellingham Farmers Market has a great gathering of local farmers, growers, and local delciousness to bring home and cook with. Granted, you have to plan ahead because it’s only open on Saturdays, but so worth it to talk to the people at the stands and get the best farm-to-table options ever! Check out the Bellingham Farmers Market!

Bonus: Cascadia Mushrooms

One of my favorite stands at the Farmers Market is the Cascadia Mushroom stall. The mushrooms just look so tasty and it’s like entering a wonderland of curiosities. Plus, they have a ton of options to buy online on their website! Check out the Cascadia Mushroom website for more!

If you’re not like me who spent way to much time playing Stardew Valley growing up and don’t have a good idea of what’s in season, here is a good list to get you started:

Explore around town and find more!

I simply must encourage you to drive around neighborhoods and see what you find. I’ve driven and had to pit-stop at little neighborhood lean-to stands for fresh eggs, flowers, honey, veggies, and more. Bellingham is a town that loves to make and create from art to food. Seeing a little stand with a handwritten sign just brings a smile to my face.
