Cherry Blossoms are Blooming!
Cherry blossom trees in Bellingham are in full bloom and the petals are starting to drop like confetti on the sidewalks and cars and I realized… I want to see more of them! In Washington State, Cherry Blossoms bloom between between the last week of March and the first week of April. So, before it is too late, I have put together a list of places you can adventure to around Bellingham and Whatcom County to enjoy these colorful blossoms.
Where to find Cherry Blossoms in Bellingham:
Western Washington University
Near Old Main
Near the Communications Lawn and the Wade King Rec Center. As of 2026, there is construction happening so some of the trees are blocked off. Fingers crossed they outlast the construction!
Bellingham Technical College
Whatcom Community College
Zaunich Point Park
Letter Streets / Girard Street & Halleck Street
Specifically around J Street and Girard Street and Halleck Street. Which Chef and I accidently drove down the wrong way on one of those streets because we got sucked in by the archway of pink cherry blossoms. We course-corrected quickly so be careful not to get too enchanted by the blooms!
Cornwall Park
Which also has a Sylvia Grace Magnolia Collection
Cordata Parkway
More Places to Find Cherry Blossoms:
I’ve never been here but it comes recommended and seems like a lovely little walk regularly!
Seike Japanese Garden at the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden
Enjoy the cherry blossoms this spring in Washington!I feel like when I see the pink blossoms bloom it’s like the true beginning of spring. Those little tuffs appear and seem to say, “I’m the warmest falling snow you’ll see for while.” and I will forever be mesmorized by the trees, the petals, and when so many of them are all gathered in one spot!
