Neighborhoods for Nature Lovers in Bellingham
I feel like this will be the world's shortest blog because the answer to, “what neighborhoods are the best to be in nature in Bellingham?” is ALL OF THEM!
Of all the fully identifiable neighborhoods outlined by the City of Bellingham all of them are nature-y. I’d say the “least” nature focused neighborhoods are City Center Neighborhood (but even then you have the outdoor amphitheater in Maritime Heritage Park on Whatcom Creek) and Meridian Neighborhood because it is that combination of land use zoning designations consisting of Commercial, Industrial, and Residential But even then that area is still full of trees and greenery and you’re only moments away from nature.
The Bellingham Herald shared that: “90% of Bellingham residents live within a ten-minute walk, or roughly half a mile, of a park.” So there you go!
So really, take your pick of any of the neighborhoods in Bellingham to fill your forest spirit:
Throw a Dart at a map and you’ll end up in nature! As wonderful of a brush stroke it is to make that Bellingham is very nature forward and focused its important to note that each of those neighborhoods are different in how nature appears. Waterfront, old-growth, neighborhood gardens and so on. So adventure around and find the nature that fits your needs.
