Radio Stations to Listen to in Bellingham

When I moved to Bellingham I had the hardest time finding a radio station I consistently enjoyed. Luckily, these days I have found some crystal clear, smile-to-yourself-in-the-car DJs who make any car ride with the radio on fabulous.

Kafe 104.1

Very local station that plays “Today’s Variety”. It’s a good mix of banter that is hyper-local and they often share events that are happening and do a great job of showing up and setting up a booth at local places. They also have Festive Fridays which I’ve attended, where they invite locals into the radio booth and the each program are fun and gives a great spotlight to local happenings. Listen to Kafe 104.1.

94.5 Virgin Radio

This Canadian station comes in very clearly in the PNW corner. It’s “Vancouver’s #1 Radio Station” and plays mostly Top 40 songs but can have a decent mix. Listen to 94.5 Virgin Radio.

92.9 KISM

A classic rock station that I love flipping too and laughing at how my husband knows all the words and drum cadencies to every song. Listen to 92.9 KISM.

Other FM Stations in Bellingham:

  • KUGS 89.3 | A Western Washington University run radio station

  • KGMI 96.5 | News Talkshow Radio Style

  • KPUG 97.9 | Northwest Sports Radio

  • KZAX 94.9 | Radio program from Make.Shift Art Space

In Summary ~ Lots to choose from!

There are some religious-focused stations, jazz, I’ve been really impressed when we scroll through radio stations. There is one… One that is like an alternate universe of music… Like music you almost recognize but isn’t the famous version you know or even the artist you think it should be. I’ll try and find that one and add it to the list… That’s a wild one.
