Blue Room Wellness Spa: The Place for Facials & More
Not to be confused with “Blue Room” the Live Music/Party/Event Venue in downtown Bellingham — This is Blue Room Wellness and Spa! It’ll feel like a party for your skin and truly rejuvenate your spirit!
I was recommended Jessica, the woman behind Blue Room Wellness Spa by a friend. My first-real-bonafide facial. The Husband also wanted one and it was his first facial. We didn’t know what to expect, what questions to ask, or how to feel and Jessica made it the best experience with her thoughtfulness, attitude and of course, her energy!
To begin, I have sensitive and reactive skin so I was fairly apprehensive. I wear sunscreen every day… But I kept thinking: What if it hurts? Stings? What if the facial makes my face red for hours or days after? So, we booked a consultation first. Luckily, anytime you book a custom facial at Blue Room Wellness Spa, they all include a trademark consultation to begin with, but hey, we were new and awkward and Jessica accepted us with grace and joy.
During the consultation Jessica asked us great questions we didn’t even know to ask, gave a very thorough walk-through of what she’d suggest and by the end we both booked an hour custom-facial. She also offers half’n’hour but we were there for the relaxation.
Husband went first a week later and returned home glowing. He has flawless skin already so I wasn’t sure how it could be more fabulous but Jessica worked some magic and sent him home with toner which he proudly uses every day. But the best part was he returned with such energy and exuberance which was just a treat.
Another week, it’s my turn!
For all my apprehension, Jessica once again talked me through what her plan was and each of the gels, ointments, oils, she’d be using (shout out to the Honey Enzymes). It was very clear she knows her stuff and is an expert from experience. Nothing hurt. Nothing burned. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing AND I had glowing skin afterwards.
According to what we booked online what we picked included, “Aromatherapy, Scalp Massage, Pressure Points to Calm the Mind and Body, Customized Skin Treatment Based, Lymphatic Drainage, Custom Mask, Neck and Shoulder Massage and More.” I opted out of the derma-planning and Jessica was very accommodating to my requested adjustment.
Like all massage and spa things, it always ends to soon, but I felt very fulfilled and taken care of during the entire duration. It wasn’t awkward at all, it was truly fun and my skin wasn’t red, puffy, irritated, or anything. I looked a bit dewy on the way out but I was just heading home. Jessica also sent me home with Toner and Oil custom-made in the Blue Room.
Blue Room has a new home!Since our first facials, I went back for a second after Jessica relocated to a new space in the Sycamore Square in Fairhaven! You might know it better as the “Black Cat” Building or the “Building with the Historic Stairs Inside”. I was so excited to see Jessica again and check out the new space. It was just as delightful as my first visit. Very peaceful but flowing with energy. Jessica asked me how I wanted to feel afterwards and I believe I chose the word, “Rejuvenated”. I wanted to feel energized because this facial was a reward to myself as I geared up to take on another production as an actor. Like the calm before the storm of excitement and adventure.
One of the cool things about the Blue Room and Jessica is how she has evolved her business and now offers so many layers to inviting people into healing and elevating themselves through her services which she has broken down into three categories: skin, touch, and energy. She has many different offerings and levels of options you can check out on her Instagram or check out her LinkTree.
Go Visit Blue Room Wellness and Spa, Where Beauty Meets Healing! While I’ll explore the world of facials more, I’m know my first experience could’ve really gone wrong and I am so grateful for the care and explanations Jessica provided me. If you want to book your own or have more questions you can always give her a call. Facials are more than a special treat, they can help heal, remediate, and with Jessica become a place of education to learn about your skin and achieve what you’re after on your journey.
Next up? Maybe Reiki Healing at Blue Room! Why not try a bit of everything?
