Accomplice: Criminally Delicious Burgers and Fried Chicken
Accomplice in Bellingham, is where we go when we want truly flavorful, experimental, yet casual burgers, fries, and chicken sandwiches. I cannot begin to tell you the amount of money we have spent here since they opened in 2021, I remember going when it was pop-up called “comrades”, okay? Whenever Chef and I look at each other, hungry and undecided, he’ll always say, “Accomplice?” And we jump in the car like bandits: one drives, one calls, and by the time we sneak in the food is ready to go and it hasn’t let us down yet.
Accomplice’s Menu
Honestly, we get sucked in by Accomplice’s Instagram because their kitchen regularly has some sort of special, limited time, yummy thing going on. Only a handful of restaurants will develop a new item and just send it in an online post, in the past they’ve done crunchwraps, smoked pork collar, fried chicken with grilled mortadella and honey “dijonnaise”, skirt steak, they also did donuts for a smidge.
Our favorite thing on the menu that we always choose is Accomplice’s Honey Fried Chicken Sandwich a buttermilk marinated chicken breast, honey glaze, house pickles, chicken bone mayo, buttered potato roll. thought recently I have been switching it up for their $8 Cheeseburger, a 3oz beef patty with American cheese, house pickles, lettuce, beef bone mayo, buttered potato bun. Or if I’m feeling really fancy I’ll get the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger.
For sides we never leave without Accomplice’s Beef Fat Fries, which, I didn’t realize that’s their name, but they are light, crispy, salted just right and the perfect side to any of their main menu items. I’ve heard people call them Match-Stick Style french fries, which feels accurate but I feel like they have more potato than “true” match-stick style fries. I do miss the days where they did lemon zest on them. Those were good times. Worry not, there are also other just as delicious options with their Cajun Fries and Onion Rings!
Dining in at Accomplice
We don’t regularly eat-in at Accomplice because it’s just as good to take-out but their dining space and little bar section are really a delight to sit in. Back in the day there were more hidden white burglars around the space, but these days they just live in the ceilings (have you looked up in the bathroom at Accomplice?), they have a TV usually showing Bob Ross or a big sporting game, they have a bright pink bar where you watch your milkshakes get made and black tables and high-tops to sit and enjoy your food. There is usually room to sit down regardless of your group size and again, if it’s too full you can get it to go and it’ll still be perfectly delicious. They also have a PAC-Man arcade game that is just so fun to see and watch people play.
